We first wrote our manifesto in April of 2025, two weeks after we launched. The company was very different from what we are today, and for that reason it was time to revisit it. Our North Star remains roughly the same and now reads as: We are building the premier source for short-form video data and tools to turn that data into meaningful business outcomes.
With our North Star in mind, we revisited all of our language in our manifesto. Starting with our mission. At Virlo, and Red Lab broadly, we believe that the North Star will always "be true" (hence why it's generally unchanged), and mission is one area that we expect to change roughly annually as our given challenges and missions evolve. Our new mission statement reads; The world today is noisy, noisier than ever. It's vital we give digital entrepreneurs access to real-time data across all of short-form because it's where consumers live and make decisions. Algorithms evolve faster than intuition can keep up. Virlo exists to serve our customers and give them any edge that we can.
We break our understanding of what our customers have asked of us into three pillars. This is based now on roughly eight months of paying customers, so we feel this now has "basis" that may not have completely existed before (before was hunch only).
Provide customers with customized access to data that they care about, with parameters that they determine, should be easy as ordering ubereats on a Sunday
Implement and continue to evolve our tools that allow users to leverage the data they host inside Virlo in their businesses as fast as humanly possible. Emails, reports, general media (image and video), spreadsheets, whatever it is, we want to allow them to create it.
Customers want us to change fast, and we want to too. Email us anytime at [email protected], book a meeting with our founder in the dashboard, or tag us on X. If it fits with the Mission it will come to fruition - rhyming not included.
As we continued to review our manifesto it brought us to reviewing "How We Work". This section may seem moot for a customer to understand, but we take extreme pride in the way we work at Virlo. To quote the late John D. Rockefeller "The secret to success is to do common things uncommonly well". We believe and know this to be true based on the companies that we look up to internally, and promise to our customers it will always be true for us too. Promises the Virlo team makes:
We build for the long term
We will always push ourselves to create better products for our users
We care for our customers by always being available
Every email answered. Every complaint read.
Caring deeply about our work is our moat
We felt the "Why This Matters" section could stay the same, but I'll reiterate it here as well because admittedly it's damn good.
Short-from video is how billions learn, share, shop and connect.
For some, it has already replaced search engines as the first stop for discovery.
This is only the beginning, and Virlo will be here as it unlocks
Lastly, not quite a roadmap, but again another promise mostly for the team internally but again also for our loyal customers.
Virlo will look different in one year
The next five years will define us
Virlo will work tirelessly to provide digital entrepreneurs a lasting edge in one of the most important communication mediums ever created
That's all the manifesto'ing I can take for now. Until next time, thank you for reading and thank you for being a part of our journey.
