Benefits of Repurposing Videos

Expand Your Reach: Increase Your Audience With Video Repurposing
A single video won’t reach everyone. Repurposing your video allows you to slice it for various platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram), instantly expanding the audience who sees your content. This way, you can increase the number of views for your videos.
Keep Your Audience Engaged
People get bored seeing the same thing. Repurposing your video as a blog post with key points or an infographic keeps things fresh, grabbing attention and encouraging viewers to return for more.
Maximize Your Video Content’s Lifespan
Imagine creating one video and getting months of content. Repurposing allows you to reuse existing content, saving you a significant amount of time and resources that would otherwise be spent creating new content. Don’t forget to try different formats.
Get the Most ROI from Your Video Content
Creating videos can be expensive. Repurposing stretches your videos further. You can make more content without incurring additional production costs, thereby maximizing the value you derive from your content.
Optimize Every Piece of Content for Each Platform
Every platform has its format. Repurposing lets you tailor videos to each platform’s strengths. Short clips for TikTok, detailed explanations in a blog post – it ensures your message resonates best on each channel.
Drive More Traffic to Your Website
Search engines love fresh, relevant content. Repurposing videos into various formats (such as articles, transcripts, etc.) with potential viral video tips creates more content for search engines to find, potentially driving more traffic back to your website.

How to Make Reels With Existing Video Easily

1. Gather Your Video Clips
Start by downloading and storing all the video files you plan to utilize on your device.
2. Choose a Theme for Your Reel
Next, decide on a specific focus for your Reel. This will help you determine which clips to include to create the most engaging content.
3. Select One or More Videos
Once you have a clear vision for your upcoming Reel, open your video catalog and pick one or more clips that fit your theme.
4. Edit Your Reel
After selecting your first video, tap Preview to open the Reels editor. From here, you can access various features to customize your content. Options include:
Edit
Split, crop, or replace clips and adjust the video playback speed.
Add Music
Add background music from Instagram’s music library.
Add Text
Overlay text on your Reel with different fonts, colors, and backgrounds.
Explore Clip Hub
Import GIPHY clips from categories like Memes, Trending, and TV & Movies.
Add Stickers
Insert pre-made or custom stickers.
Include Captions
Add captions and edit them to enhance accessibility.
Create a Voiceover
Record and apply a voiceover to play over your video.
Adjust Volume
Find the ideal volume for all your clips.
Reorder
Move around video clips to structure your Reel.
Filter
Apply visual filters like Tokyo, New York, or Paris. When you’re finished editing your Reel, click the arrow button in the upper right corner of the screen.
5. Add More Videos
Instagram makes it easy to create a Reel with multiple videos. Once you’ve selected your first video, tap Preview to open the editor feature. On the right side of the screen, you’ll see a small icon that looks like a play button with a plus sign. Clicking this graphic reopens your camera roll, letting you select another video and add it to the same Reel. While you can add as many videos as you want, note that an Instagram Reel can only be up to 90 seconds long. If you add more than 90 seconds of content, you’ll need to trim clips to stay within the allowed time limit.
6. Finalize and Share
Before sharing, you’ll see a final screen where you can write captions and hashtags, tag people, add locations, and rename audio. Including these details improves your search engine optimization, making your content more discoverable on the platform. You can choose privacy and sharing options, deciding whether to share your Reel publicly or limit it to your close friends. You can also elect to allow downloads and enable closed captions.

Use Instagram's Discover Page to Find Trendy Reels
When you open the Instagram app, you can tap the Reels button on the bottom of your screen and scroll through. But on the discovery page, you can find trendy ones. What I do is click through, watch the reel, and ask myself, “Do I like the sound in the plot?” Many of them are voiceovers and are pretty catchy. And other ones are cute dance videos. I’ll ask myself this question and decide how I could repurpose it.
The Reels could have nothing to do with my niche or industry, but the element of the reel is what I like. So, here is what I do. I click the audio at the bottom right-hand corner. Before I use the audio, I go to the top corner and click the "Copy link" option. If you are going to delegate this, you need the audio. This process is also a good way to keep track of all of these.
Monitor Online Communities to Find Reels Ideas
Visit online communities in your industry to see the types of challenges people struggle with and the questions they want to have answered. You can then write high-quality content to help. Look for topics that come up repeatedly, as this is a sign that many people are interested in the question. For example, let's examine the subreddit community r/emailmarketing and filter by the top posts from the past month.
We can see plenty of interesting topic ideas, including: Where to find email marketing freelancers Email marketing for newbies How to create a microsite for your newsletter business Should you use a separate domain for email marketing Since people interested in email marketing are asking questions about these topics, people who read our email marketing newsletter are likely to be interested too.
Be Involved in Your Industry to Get Reels' Inspirations
A simple way to get post inspiration is to be involved in your industry. This will highlight the most talked-about topics. To start, create social media profiles on the most relevant channels and then follow other experts or influencers.
Also, sign up for newsletters to see what these people are writing about. Keep track of: The content types that get the most engagement, Questions that keep coming up, and Topics that are trending. You can then write newsletters that put your spin on some of these popular subjects.
See What Works on Other Channels to Generate Reels Ideas
Many of us publish content on multiple channels like social media, blogs, and video platforms, as well as our newsletters. Monitor your social media marketing analytics to identify high-performing posts, videos, and reels. The most popular ones could be repurposed into other forms of content. For example, if you have a YouTube video that worked particularly well, you could develop a newsletter on the same topic (here’s more on how social media and email can work together).
How to Find Your Social Media Analytics on Facebook
To view your Page Insights, visit your business page and select Insights from the left menu.
Instagram: Go to your profile and select "Professional Dashboard" at the top of the page.
X: Sign up for a Premium account to access analytics. Alternatively, monitor your interaction to see which posts are popular.
TikTok: Go to your account, select the three dots at the top right of the screen, and then navigate to 'Manage account'.
Next, click Switch to Pro account and select either Creator or Business. You can then access analytics from your profile. You can also use your social media insights, such as these Instagram analytics below, to learn more about the demographics of your audience and then tailor fresh content around the data.
Check Your Website Analytics for Fresh Reels Ideas
At first glance, your website analytics tools might look intimidating. But once you know where to look, they quickly become one of the most valuable areas of your content marketing toolbox and a great way to identify some fresh new content creation ideas. You can use your website analytics to get detailed reports on your web traffic and find out where your strengths lie. If specific topics or categories perform well, you can create more content on similar topics.
To identify which content is meeting all your goals, you first need to define your objectives. Ask what you want to achieve, whether that’s more sales, newsletter signups, or something else entirely. Next, set up goals within your analytics platform to track the content that performs best. By filtering content that performs well against these goals, you can create similar newsletters to maintain the winning streak.

4 Tips for Repurposing Video Content

1. Tailor Content for Each Platform
Each platform has a different way of displaying and interacting with video content, and you want to ensure your repurposed content fits seamlessly into each one. For example, for social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, you may need to create shorter, attention-grabbing clips with captions or overlays to enhance their impact.
For YouTube and LinkedIn, longer, more educational videos may be more effective. You can also extract the audio from your video for use on podcast platforms like Spotify and Apple Podcasts. This allows you to reach an entirely different audience with the duplicate content. Transcribing your video content can provide you with a wealth of written content that can be used for blogs, social media posts, email newsletters, and more. You can also use quotes from your video to create visual graphics for social media.
2. Identify Key Segments
Watch the video and identify moments that can stand alone as shorter clips, such as powerful quotes, fascinating facts, and valuable tips. You can also start to identify smaller themes, such as everything related to a specific feature of your product. Using a video editing tool, or AI, separate these clips. They can be any length, as you will use them for different platforms and projects.
3. Create Teasers and Trailers
Teasers and trailers are short video snippets that aim to promote your longer video content. They can be used on social media, your website, and email campaigns to generate interest and drive traffic to your full-length video. Create multiple versions of teasers and trailers using different clips and messaging to target different audiences and promote specific aspects of your video content.
4. Transform Testimonials into Case Studies
If you have happy customers who are willing to share their experiences with your brand, take it one step further by turning their testimonials into written case studies and featuring them on your website. This not only adds credibility to your brand but also provides more in-depth information about the customer’s experience and the results they achieved with your product or service.
